Things You Should Know About RC Boats

Posted by admin on July 16th, 2009 and filed under Radio Controlled Boats | 1 Comment »

So you are looking at Radio Controlled boats as a hobby? Here is a look at some of the things you should know beforehand when researching. The types of RC boats that are available to you vary greatly including the electric RC boat, nitro RC boat and Gas RC boats. For those that enjoy working with their hands consideration should be given to RC boat kits. You take the time putting it together, and when you’re done it’s ready to go. In addition to the go fast ready to run boats there are also radio control sailboats, scale model boats and even rc submarines.. Many scale model boats come in kit form and are almost as much fun as their full size counterparts.

Before you go out and just buy the first RC boat you see, it is important to shop around. RC boats can be expensive but there are lots of models of electric radio controlled boats that start at less than $100. Beginners should check out the lower priced boats first so that if there is a disaster they do not loose a huge investment. Starting with a lower priced boat can be a good idea so that while you are honing your RC boat skills a small accident does not add up to a big deal.

You should spend some time and research and read about RC boat. This can really improve your knowledge, and make you more informed before going in to purchase. If you are shopping at a brick and mortar store, ask lots of question and if shopping on line send emails to get answers. You will find many on line outlets for RC boats and each will usually display all the specifications for each boat. Keep track of all your questions and when you go to your local hobby strore get any unanswered question answered as well as any specifics about a particular RC boat that is of interest. I will not make any specific recommendations for any one brand of radio controlled boat as each enthusiast has their own favorites. Only you can decide what you like the most.

Before you rush out and put your new boat in the water take a moment. Whenever you going out RC boat racing, have a checklist. Even real ship or plane captains have pre-flight check lists that they go over to ensure they have a safe trip, and remote controlled boats are no exception.

It is especially important with RC boats, since you will often have a heck of time retrieving it if something happens. Before us always make sure that the controls are work right, there is enough fuel or the batteries are fully charged and that the sails, rigging or steering are fully functional.

Even after all of that, test run it near the shore first, so you can make any adjustments necessary before going out on open water. This additional precaution will often save you from having to retrieve your RC boat or possibly end up loosing entirely.

Whichever model or type of RC boat you choose, if you follow these basics, not only will you get the most out of your money, but your radio controlled boating experience will be more pleasant. Doing regular maintenance, following the owner’s manual, as well as whatever else is needed to make your boat run smoothly will ensure that you will have to best experience possible.

Radio Controlled Boats - Beginners Notes

Posted by admin on March 1st, 2009 and filed under Radio Controlled Boats, Radio Controlled Gas Boats, Remote Control Boats | 1 Comment »

Some of the most exciting radio controlled vehicles on the market today; radio controlled boats are creating quite a splash. The appeal is huge with this hobby, and it isn’t hard to see why. Electric radio controlled boats are amazingly fast, and the turns offer as much excitement as the latest Hollywood action flick. If you’re interested in getting started in this exciting hobby, it can be a bit overwhelming initially. This guide, though, should help.

Consider Your Area

One of the most important parts of owning a radio controlled boat is taking it out to play, but before you can even think about what kind of boat you want, you need to consider where you will use it most often. Do you live near a large lake? Are you close to a stream or a river? Do you simply plan to take it to your local pond? Thinking of using it in your backyard swimming pool? All of these are viable locations for radio control boats, but in addition to thinking about where you’d like to run it, you may also need to decide if you can run it in a certain location. For example, some public parks have rules against RC vehicles of any type, so if you’re not running it on your own property, check the laws in your area before you buy.

Understanding the laws and ordinances in your area is important, but thinking about the area’s size is equally essential. If you’re planning to use a small area like the duck pond at a nearby park, you need a much smaller boat. If you have more than a hundred feet to play with, you can buy a bigger, faster boat.

As you think about the size of the area, you should also think about the general water conditions. While they will vary from day to day, understanding what they will typically be like may help you choose the right radio control boat. If you’re more likely to be dealing with rough, choppy conditions while you’re on the water, you need to consider a boat that has a deep V or mono hull. If you will most often have calm waters, a catamaran or hydroplane style hull is a fine idea. This hull type, however, tends to be better for those more advanced with the hobby.

Self made electric RC boat run #1

Posted by admin on March 21st, 2010 and filed under Radio Controlled Boats | 11 Comments »

Sound may be running to fast to go with the video, atleast that’s what I’ve noticed in WMP.

Testing out my self made rc boat. Just testing steering and acceleration. Soon a vid with a top plate so water can’t go in anymore.
It’s not going on full power yet because the correct weight from the top isn’t on it yet, so the prop goes deeper in the water.
All the parts are from my old RC car, some triplex wood and a plexiglas plate.

Question on religion. Some say that religion was invented just to control people. How did or does religion?

Posted by admin on March 15th, 2010 and filed under Radio Controlled Boats | 12 Comments »

control a person? Control means to command, make, and force. I’m a Christian and I have the same rights, privileges, and freedom as do you. Living location, schooling, work, R&R, buying, selling, etc. etc. I can do these things just like anyone else. So-How am I being controlled? I’m not forced to go to church and I’m not forced to give money. I might be asked to do so. but I’m not forced to do so. Religion doesn’t force me to keep the commandments. But keeping the commandments is good for you and good for me. Is there something wrong with keeping "thou shall not steal"? Is it supposed to make me say that whatever the government does is fine and I’m not supposed to "rock the boat"? I can protest, run for office, belong to a union, etc. just like you can. Is the media, radio, TV, movies, newspapers, and all laws controlled by religion? Please, name what specific thing religion has FORCED YOU TO DO. How is religion forcing/controlling me? How is it trying to force & control you?

You are right to a point. Religion does not MAKE you do anything but it does shape the way you perceive things. You are taught from day one what is right and wrong and much of this is backed up from teachings of your religion. I’m not saying that this is wrong, most religious teachings are for the betterment of everyone in general.

Lets look at this another way. As a christian you would have no problem eating pork or beef. This is perfectly normal. If you were raised as a Muslim or Jew it would be unthinkable to eat pork, if Hindu beef would be out of the question. Why? Because since you can remember you have been taught that this was wrong or this was right because your god or prophet said so. Yes, the final decision is up to you but a person raised as a Hindu would see the decision to eat a nice juicy burger a hell of a lot differently than a christian would.

If you were raised in a community where it was normal and expected to take what you wanted from someone who was weaker, even if it meant killing them you would not have the same revulsion to taking a life as you probably do now.

I am not a religious person, just never bought into it but I can definitely see the benefit of organized religion. I have a beef with religion when it pits one against another when the teachings just about always come down to the same principals.

Is it conspiracy of Hong Kong Council for Substainable Development lost 2,000 completed forms in air quality?

Posted by admin on March 8th, 2010 and filed under Radio Controlled Boats | 2 Comments »

Hong Kong’s foul air has raised a public survey in collecting the opinion from the publics. The Hong Kong Council for Subtainable Development is responsible for collecting questionaires from the concerned citizens. The council’s spokesperson revealed that 2,000 of 7,000 completed forms had lost ten days after the survey. Many sensible citizens know that the cause of foul air are the two fossil fuel power generating stations, the car flow capacity of 400 per kilometer, many outdated diesel buses and vans and ferry boats, and the cars park with idling engines. Many citizens are cynical to the Hong Kong government for air quality improvement. Every one knows about Donald Tsang Yum-Keun lied on TV in air quality’s. The Environment Control Dept. lied on radio show by saying that the Hong Kong air quality has improved dramatically. My ass! Most outdoor residents feel Hong Kong air is getting worsen each day. Eight years ago the press said that Hong Kong become not liveable in ten years period
I am quite sure many years ago (probably 8), many local newspapers published articles indicating that Hong Kong would become not suitable for human to live. Many educators and scientists from all over the world and Hong Kong published articles in the topics of Hong Kong foul air would turn Hong Kong to a not suitable for human inhabitant. I think some powerful and bad people in Hong Kong intend to intervine the public to press for the improvement of air quality.
I think that Hong Kong government must do something to improve and control what described. Put pressure to the two power generating stations by imposing them a big fine if they don’t change by using environment protect fuels. The Hong Kong think tank should think about hybrid engines, Euro 5 and even the outdated Euro 4, ban conventional diesel fuel and replace by compatable ones.
